HEADLINE

Allies and supporters of incumbent Dumaguete City Mayor Chiquiting Sagarbarria expressed confidence that the entire slate of the Nationalist People’s Coalition will prevail over their rivals in the Liberal Party ticket headed by Vice-Mayor Alan Gel Cordova and dominated by first timer- candidates with less political experience.

Mayor Sagarbarria’s vice-mayoral tandem now is his former rival in 2010, former Vice-mayor Woodrow Maquiling. Sagarbarria said that the people of Dumaguete now have a clear choice: to vote on people with a fine track record of performance and a grand vision for the city or cast their lot with a group composed of largely untested neophytes.

EDITORIAL

Man and his evil instincts, whenever new discoveries and inventions are developed, supposedly for the good of man, usually if not always, ends up in self destruction.

Since the time of Cain and Abel, man always was jealous of each other and ended everything in tragedy.

The splitting of the atom which was a breakthrough in science turned out to be the advent of the atom bomb which ended up man killing man.

The discovery of cell cloning ended up in perpetuating more complex crimes.

And now, with the entry of cyber technology which enables man to cut the bounds of time and space, has ended up with unprecedented destruction of man’s reputation splashed around the world in split second.
