P1.06B for 2nd District; solon sets insertions

The second district of Negros Oriental is getting a whooping P1.06-Billion in infrastructure from the Dept of Public Highways for 2017, under Rep Manuel Sagararria.

This developed as Rep Sagar will be seeking some project recommendations from his constituents so he can insert these in the national appropriations budget to fit its allocations.

There will be no more PDAF so all the money for this district and province will be allotted in the national budget, thru the line agencies.

A windfall of projects can be expected for the second district as contained in the report of Cong. Manuel Sagarbarria who had actively participated in the deliberation of the national budget in congress.

Sagarbarria said a total of P1.062 is proposed for the second district alone under the national expenditures program to be implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

This is not to mention the fact that P15 million is also alloted by the agriculture department for the construction of more farm to market roads aside from the farm implements promised by the national government, P15 million for health programs for the purchase of hospital equipment for the district hospitals in Mabinay and Tanjay City.

Another big project being pushed by the second district solon is the construction of a drug rehabilitation center within the district.

The drug rehab center costs P60 million, the preferred sites of which are either Tanjay City or Bais City

Sagarbarria said both local government units are interested in urging their respective mayors to submit their proposed sites for evaluation.
