An enthusiastic crowd composed of government employees, corporate sponsors, stu dents and local government officials across the province joined Friday’s Parada Negorense, which highlighted the opening of this year’s Buglasan Festival of Festivals.last Friday.

The parade was accompanied by several marching bands of colleges and universities that are competing for the title as festival’s best.

Following an ecumenical service and the opening salvo production by Silliman University Dance Troupe, the Freedom Fair Booths were also officially opened with a fireworks display.

The popular band Siakol was also featured during the Globe/TM night and was capped by a party live band of San Miguel Corporation.

Yesterday highlights the opening of the Heritage Booths at the Sidlakang Negros Village while party bands kept the goers on their feet.

At least three sports activities will be held today under the Governor’s Sports Festival namely: Table Tennis, 5Km run for a Cause and Ultimate Frisbee. But the highly anticipated event would be the Miss Negros Oriental contest at the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex.

The events reaches climax on October 21, declared a holiday, for the Buglasan Festival of Festivals Showdown at the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex in the morning and the Streetdance competition in the afternoon.

Finally, the Kasikas sa Boulevard and Fireworks Competition on October 22 and 23 will certainly assure that this year’s Buglasan shall end with a big bang.

4 Global Beauty Queens grace Buglasan opening

Unknown to many---, four,— yes four beauty queens from Negros Oriental who won and represented the Philippines in global beauty contests , graced the opening of the Buglasan festival of festivals last Friday at the Freedom Park.

Miss Earth Runner up 2016, from Bais city Miss Fatima Alsowyed; REIGNING Miss Asia and Miss Negros Oriental is Trixia Maraña from Amlan; Mr Global Philipines of 2013 Mr Wilfred Placencia Jr from Sibulan.; Miss Asia lst runner up of 2015 Miss Alfie Marie Nathanile Uy of Amlan; and BB Pilipinas SupraNational of 2015 Miss Rogelie Catacutan also of Amlan.

Gov Roel Degamo welcomed the inter-town participants who for the next week or two will fill the air with frestive merriment while displaying both their culture and products , unique in every town and city of this province.
