DILG executes orders without fear or favor

While his office is under fire by allies of re-elected Governor Roel Degamo for serving the dis missal order of the Ombudsman, Dennis Quiñones, OIC-Provincial Director of Department of Interior and Local Government Negros Oriental, stood his ground and defended the implementation of the dismissal order.

Nevertheless, when the order to re-install Degamo as Governor was implemented Quiñones was also at the forefront as well as in serving notice to Vice- Governor Macias to return to his post, which he graciously complied without any fuss, when the TRO from the Court of Appeaks was issued. Macias went out of his way to personally get the DILG order from Bacolod legal office last Thursday in order to end all controversies.

When the order to implement the Ombudsman ruling came through the direction of Undersecretary for Local Government Austere A. Panadero, Quiñones had to perform his duty required of the office.

Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office Director Sr. Supt. Harris Fama also directed the deployment of policemen to secure the DILG officials and prevent a possible outbreak of violence. (By Dems Demecillo)
