Farm machines given by DA to municipalities

Farm machineries worth millions of pesos were distributed today by Sec. Emmanuel Piņol of the Derpartment of Agriculture in simple ceremonies at the public plaza in Dumaguete. These were reportedly salvaged by the Dept of Agriculture after being found to be abandoned.

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo was assisted by Dumaguete City agriculturist William Ablong in receiving two units power sprayer to the Dumaguete City organic practitionersproducers association headed by the Brocoli farmers association headed by Danny Inquig, one unit shredder to the Junob farmers association headed by Anastacia Pinili, 7 plastic drums to the Cauliflower farmers association headed by Alejandro Cordura.

The municipality of Bacong represented by Mayor Jocelyn Alviola also received one unit four-wheel driver tractor for the corn program of the Tubod farmers associatioin of Gregoria Inoy and one unit cassava grater to Calangag farmers association headed by Isidra Morano.

For Zamboanguita, the Bato farmers association headed by Edison Dupio received one unit cassava grater while the Zambosanguita farmers irrigators association received two units drum seeder.

The Siaton municipal federated association received one unit power sprayer, the Amlan Makugihon farmers association is in receipt of one unit four-wheel drive tractor for the cassava program and two units lighting materials for the Amlan fishermen association.

Bindoy Mayor Valente Yap also received four units power sprayer from Sec. Piņol for use by the Northern Negros Mango Producers Association Inc through the president Cecilio Tulabing Jr., the San Jose Fishermens associatioin headed by Jose Rosendo Quito and Donald Uy received two units lighting materials while Gov. Degamo received 64 indemnity cheques for distribution to beneficiaries.

Later in the afternoon, Piņol had an audience with the hog and goat raisers associations, dairy and small ruminant group.
